The Journey of Shirley Brunetta & Family
Eleven years ago, I experienced a gentle nudge from God, urging me to return to the Catholic Church. It was a moment of clarity that led me to reach out to St. Patrick’s. To my surprise, I received a warm reply from Father Matthew, who had just arrived from Italy.
Our meeting was the beginning of a new chapter in my spiritual journey. From the moment I stepped into the church, I felt embraced by the community. Father Matthew welcomed me and my family with open arms, and it wasn’t long before my husband, Mark, and our son, Mikey, were baptized and confirmed there.
“The sense of belonging was palpable; we were not just parishioners but part of a family united in faith.”
Over the years, I’ve witnessed the church grow and flourish, and my faith has deepened alongside it. The journey has been transformative, made all the more meaningful by a devoted pastor and a vibrant community. I’ve formed lasting friendships with fellow parishioners who share the same devotion and love for Christ.
It fills my heart with joy to see the impact of our faith extend beyond our family. Two of Mark’s friends also chose to embrace Catholicism here, discovering their own paths to God. It’s a testament to the welcoming spirit of St. Patrick’s.
Recently I started The Encounter School with Father Matthew, Margaret, and the prayer team. Learning that Jesus still heals today to give glory and increase faith has been transformative. I love the Encounter nights our parish offers; they are very peaceful and meditative. Being a disciple of Christ is having a growing heart of love.
With much Gratitude and love,
